Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine which treats every patient as a unique individual by considering his or her specific symptoms. A homeopathic practitioner will take into consideration the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual symptoms all together before prescribing a remedy. Why is this done? It is because human beings are complex organisms that have multiple dimensions, which goes beyond the visible ‘physical’ self. An ideal system of medicine is that which considers all the dimensions of a human being before selecting a suitable remedy.
Mainly, homeopathic medicine works from the ‘inside-out’. It starts solving the problem from the inside and slowly works its way to the outer regions. That is why in many cases, when homeopathic medicine is administered to a patient, the patient may show symptoms that were not visible before. This is because those symptoms were suppressed before, not because they were not present. Actually, the emergence of these symptoms to the surface is a good sign because it shows that the medicine is working, and it is slowly recovering the person. This also explains why once a patient is treated with homeopathy, in most cases, the very same illness will not reappear. For example, once patients are treated for seasonal allergies, it is unlikely that the very same allergies will reappear the next season.
Homeopathic medicine is made from natural substances such as plants and minerals. Homeopathy has a unique pharmaceutical process known as ‘potentization’ (involves multiple dilutions) which allows for optimum healing when administered properly.
